Download version 0.0.6 (fully functional, time bombed at 31-Dec-2022):
Note: If you are using version 0.0.5 or below, it will have stopped working by now because it was time bombed on December 31 of last year. You will have to update to version 0.0.6 (see link below).
If you are on an M1 Mac, you need to run the host application in Rosetta.
I do have an M1 version available, but at this moment it is only made available to Github sponsors.
JSXGetURL has been updated – I now have an M1 version available, but only for Github sponsors.
JSXGetURL adds basic http/https functionality to all Adobe apps that support ExtendScript – this includes InDesign, InDesign Server, Photoshop, Illustrator…
More info: https://coppieters.nz/?p=375
There is nothing to install, no admin privileges needed. You just need to add a folder with a few .jsx files to your ExtendScript project, and you can simply write ExtendScript like:
#include "JSXGetURL/JSXGetURLLoader.jsx" var getURL = JSXGetURL(); var s = getURL.get("https://www.rorohiko.com"); alert(s.substr(0,1000));
and this works in InDesign Server, ExtendScript Toolkit, Bridge, InDesign, InCopy, Illustrator or whatever else supports ExtendScript, and it works both on Mac and Windows. And it’s very fast because it’s all compiled C/C++ code.
In 2022 I’ll try to use the Github sponsorship to get some remuneration for my work – JSXGetURL proves very popular but all ‘takers’ go for the free, time-bombed version.
To try and get some funding for maintenance and updates, I’ve now set up two Github sponsorships.
There is one US$40/month sponsorship which gives you access to (time bombed) updates as they become available, rather than having to wait until the next official release in February 2023.
I also have a one-time, US$2000 sponsorship which gives you access to a non-time bombed version. If you want to use JSXGetURL in a real project and avoid being unable to run the software in January 2023, you need this.
If you take out a US$2000 sponsorship together with a US$40/month sponsorship, I will also provide non-time bombed versions of any updated versions.
The ‘free’, time bombed version will be remain available for the time being.
The link below gives you access to version 0.0.6. It is time-bombed to stop working at 31-Dec-2022.
The subsequent updated version will only be made available some time in February 2023.
Once I have a few sponsors, I’ll start work on a new version that will give you access to HTTP headers and other meta-info.
